Enrichment activities

Pupils at Kingsland are given opportunities to try various activities and clubs throughout the session from members of staff and parents*

The Senior Pupils have an annual Residential Week at Dalguise in September

Running Club - after school on Thursdays for P6 & P7  boys and girls.   Under the guidance of Mrs.Hope and Mrs.Fletcher,  the school has several notable achievements in the last few years including Scottish Cross Country Running Champions nationally and the Three Bridges Champions locally.

The Choir meets on Tuesday lunchtimes involves children from P5,6 & 7 singing and pefroming for pleasure. Previously our choir has performed for the Scottish Parliament and appeared at a charity event at teh Usher Hall in Edinburgh 

There is a gardening club in the school grounds and each class has a "patch" to grow plants.Kingsland also has a local allotment for senior gardening groups to grow produce for consumption in school

Rugby for P6 & 7 involves our local senior first Division Club providing coaching and games with their development officer George Blair.

Chanter tuition is provided by local Pipe Band members *Mrs.Swinney and *Mrs.Smith at lunchtimes on Wednesdays for pupils and staff.

Drama club is run by Mrs.Stevenson on Tuesday lunchtimes for P3

Young Engineers meet with Mrs.Hope and adult volunteers at Monday lunchtimes for P6

Netball for P6 and P7 with Mrs.Fletcher and P5 Mrs.Smith and Mrs.Stevenson

Football coaching is provided by Mr.McMorran and Mr.Crawfordfor P6 & 7 on tuesdays at 3.15pm

Code Club is an introduction to IT coding from Mrs.Ward and Mr.Wilson for P6

Adventurers is voluntary attendance for P4 to P7 meet with *Mr.& Mrs.Birss for games, songs and stories during Friday brunchtimes.

The Pupil Council meets with Mrs.Ward regularly

The ECO Green Team are led by Mrs.Belleville

All classes experience swimming lessons throughout the session, culminating in the Inter House School Swimming Gala event.

Our alternative curriculum group support the local community by tending the flower beds at the entrance to Hay lodge Park in conjunction with Peebles Callants and Bonnie Peebles

Chess is on offer during the winter with Mrs.Turner

Mrs Fletcher operates a Gym Club on Wednesdays and the Brownies use the school hall for their meetings.

Staff don't miss out either with some learning chanter, participating in staff aerobics on Thursday after school and attending other activities together. Staff social events are also very popular and well attended.

Parents too get opportunities to come into school with a Meet The Teacher afternoon. Parents are also offered a P7s going to Dalguise night for parents, Nursery and P1 induction evenings.

The school is also the venue for Peebles Scottish Country Dancing Club
